Congregational Meeting: The congregation will meet after church on May 18. Mark your calendars now so you can attend.

Church Picnic: It's the first annual COHC picnic! May 17th at Lake Elkhorn in Columbia, from 1-5pm. Please see Lisa Connor or Tanya Randolph to sign up or to get further information.

Adventure Sunday: On Sunday, May 18, from 2:00 to 5:00, River Valley Ranch will open up their adventure elements (including the climbing tower, zip line, giant swing, and high ropes) so you can have some fun and experience their high adventure elements. They'll also show you the location of the new triple-1700 ft zip-line and tell you about how they use these elements to teach trust and faith and encourage people towards personal spiritual growth in Christ.

River Valley Ranch hopes to raise several thousand dollars to finish the zip-line project and make the zip-line operational for this summer. Though there is no admission charge, donations will be asked for at the end of the presentation.

If you are interested in attending Adventure Sunday 2008, please email Greg Henery, RVR Adventure Director, and let him know how many will be attending. Children are welcome to attend, but small children may not be able to do certain high elements.

(W)right or Wrong: Race is Still an Issue: Invite a friend and join us on Friday, May 30 for our first Open Forum Discussion. This outreach event will be held at Java Grande in Ellicott City. The open forum will consist of a short lecture followed by interaction from those who come. It will be an exciting time as we interact with others on how the gospel addresses the issue of race.

"Drive for Habitat"Golf Tournament: Come and join Habitat for Humanity of Howard County at their 2nd annual golf tournament at Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City on Friday, June 13 at 8:00 AM. You and your foursome could enjoy a day of fellowship, fun and food with other golfers while helping to provide affordable housing for Howard County families. Men's Morning Encouragement: Join the COH men each Friday at 7:00 am at Orinoco Coffee House on McGaw road in Columbia. Come for encouragement, prayer, coffee, and to be challenged toward change to better serve our families, church and community. Contact Howard Collins or Martin Gallagher for more information.

Homeless Ministry: We will be ministering to the homeless on Rt. 1 on the 3rd Wednesday of each month. Donations of nonperishable food items and water are needed, as well as volunteers to deliver the food. For more information, see Denise Ai.

Spring Yard Work? The youth are available to do odd jobs, such as yard work and spring cleaning, in an effort to raise money for their mission trip this summer. Please contact Mark or Laura Samuel (301-514-9292) with any work you would like done.

Creation Camp: This event for children and youth will kick off on July 13 and take place during the week of July 14-18. More details will be posted soon. For more information, contact the Gallaghers or the Samuels.

Domestic Violence Center: The DVC is looking for volunteers to help supervise their children's programs. Our church is trying to get a group to serve together. After training, we would help supervise the children once a month on a Wed. evening, from 6:45pm-8:30pm. If you are interested, please contact Val as soon as possible so she can let DVC know how many to expect from our church.

Donations Needed: We are accepting donations on behalf of the Domestic Violence Shelter. They are in need of ethnic hair products, canned foods, gift cards to local grocery stores and baby care items. Please give donations to Denise.

Jail Ministry: COH will be hosting the worship service at the Howard County Detention Center on the following dates: May 25th at 1:30 for the men and at 12:30 for the women. If you are interested in helping, please see Pastor Irwyn.

Meals for Grassroots: Every other month we provide a meal for the Grassroots Homeless shelter. The schedule is as follows: April- Miller Small Group. Any questions or concerns, email Denise at denise_ai@yahoo.com.
